The way people are connecting with each other constantly changes. Today, it is possible to connect with an old friend, a colleague, or a potential client all through social media.  It has also impacted how business is conducted.  Customers and followers look online to learn more about what has been going on with the brand, including promotions and news from the business.  In order to attract the greatest amount of people to your social media platforms, you must follow the 3 golden rules of social media.

1. Engage With Followers and Customers

One of the great things about social media today is that it allows you to interact with followers and customers, both quickly and efficiently.  Social media helps brands listen to what customers are saying about their products. If customers are satisfied with the product, you are able to respond to their positive comments, as well as listen to unsatisfied customers and help make their experiences with your brand more enjoyable. Platforms such as Twitter and Facebook allow you to have conversations with followers and ask questions in real-time. This is your chance to listen and learn more about the customers’ concerns, as well as show them that you care about their ideas and what they have to say.

2. Constantly Share Content With Your Followers

When using social media, it is important to share content that is both engaging and relatable. Frequently posting tips and other sorts of information will help to keep your followers interested and coming back to your page for more.  It may also help increase the amount your content is shared or retweeted by those following you. Share exciting things frequently that will both spark your followers’ interests and entertain them.  Pictures, tips, and relatable articles are all great options. People are much more likely and willing to respond to content that speaks to them—you’re not likely to check out a Facebook page with little to no activity.

All of these allow you to interact with your consumer, but they offer different types of interaction. It is important to figure out what each medium has to offer and what will be the best use for your business. Twitter allows you to express your thoughts and ideas and create conversations with the use of hashtags, while Instagram allows you to upload pictures and videos of anything ranging from the product you are selling or to the behind the scenes of how the product is made.  There are many different ways to get you product out there and interact with consumers and followers, you just need to figure out the best options for your brand.  Accessing multiple social media platforms is a great idea, but you must remember to remain active on each of those accounts.  Based on your brand and who your target customer is, find what works for you and stick with it.
